Transoceanic Fiber-Optic Portable Cable Terminating Equipment /PCTE
The purpose of a PCTE is to remotely terminate submarine cable on the deck or near the repeater / amplifier storage area and solving the problems with short ends. The PCTE are used in conjunction with a CTE extending both the fiber optics and the power to a remote location.

The PCTE are equipped with internal locks. PCTE's are not watertight and should be used and stored in clean, dry, well ventilated area of the ship, not left out in the weather. Remember salt spray will leave a deposit on equipment that will conduct electricity. High voltage testing will produce ozone. Ventilation is needed in the area to prevent a buildup of ozone gas. PCTE's have grounding cables and clamps. Power Cable can be supplied and tested for any length with single or double shield. |
